And, to whet your appetite, here’s one of my fave moments. It takes place when armchair atheist “Evan” apparently decides spouting off his latest diatribes against God, the Bible, and Christianity just ain’t good enough for him, so he instead opts to become a part-time shrink and psychoanalyze yours truly as well:

Take it up with Patrick. He seems to think God does speak directly to him. Perhaps he is the one who is arrogant? [...] So is Patrick’s devotional metaphorical? If so, it’s a bizarre homoerotic metaphor. It strikes me that Patrick is speaking about a literal Jesus who literally is with him and who he loves to be with. [...] I am thinking when Patrick has real tears he thinks there’s a real Jesus who he is in love with who is gonna put his soft man-hands on his weeping face.

I hope this isn’t “homoerotic” of me to say, but, as usual, I arrived late to the dance, so the time for me to respond is now over! Alas, I hang my head low in shame, as my “soft man-hands” droop to the side, and I look for a manly man to wipe away the tears from my “weeping face.” O, Evan Almighty, Evan Almighty, wherefore art thou homeo? Then again, who has the patience to respond to a troll? Which is why I’m glad Steve, Gene, Jonah, Pastor Stephen Wilson, et al have responded and responded exceedingly well. Their comments are worth reading.
