Upgrade

As if you were interested (I know a couple of you are, at least), I upgraded TOOT to WordPress 2.5. It’s nice, overall. The only major functionality I think I lost was Wavatars, and to be honest, while on a mostly guy-oriented site like Shamus Young’s you can get away with people having goofy-looking default avatars, around here it was poor form for some of our visitors and regular commenters to have such really awful-looking faces for the world. I did enable Gravatar support, but so far I haven’t seen it working yet; not sure why. There are quite a few things behind the scenes that have changed; overall I like it, but we’ll have to see what happens. Let me know if something doesn’t work for you (you can comment here, assuming commenting works, but in my tests it did).

Update: I fixed the Gravatar problem (actually they rely on theme designers to include support, apparently). And I did something that will probably fume a few people; if they post without a Gravatar, they get this lovely picture of John Calvin instead.

Update 2: Note for others: the Bad Behavior plugin can break image uploading. Arggh.

Update 3: Bad Behavior is fixed now.

Bad Behavior is fixed, but WordPress is broken. That stupid new image uploader has more bugs than a roach motel. I haven’t been able to successfully upload an image yet. I should have stayed on 2.3.x…

I’m beginning to think the same thing. I managed to get one uploaded, but the script errors are mind-boggling at the moment.
