Churches going to the dogs

Oddly enough, something like this came up in our apologetics class at church last night.

I am kind of glad that conversation came up last night. I was convicted on my trip to Juarez (and before the trip, actually) that I tend to make an idol of animals, especially cats and dogs. When I went to Juarez, I saw starving animals and very poor children. I was convicted that it was harder for me to look at a starving animal than it was to see a child who was living in poverty. That was a wake up call for me. I praise God that He convicted me. My affection and view of animals is slowly changing to what it should be. I used to view animals as just as important as people and that is not healthy or correct. I try to keep the Matthew 10 passage in my mind where Jesus says that we are much more valuable than the sparrows.
