Chillaxin’ is hard work

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. But, dear reader, don’t you know? It’s a hard knock life for me. I mean, it’s just so doggone hard to lift a finger to type when you’re lying down on a folding beach chair, chillaxin’ and sipping martinis on a beautiful, sandy beach and soaking up the gorgeous sunbeams!

Heck, I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

But you might legitimately ask me, so why are you posting now? Well, the main reason I’m posting now is because I must foil Charlie’s attempt to have my otherwise good name (ha, yeah right!) relegated from off of TOOT’s front page! Just kidding.

No, you see, the reason I’m posting now is because I care so much about you, dear reader, that I’m taking time out of my uber busy schedule and generally hectic lifestyle to post a few pretty cool links for your reading pleasure (please no need to thank me; your flushed red face already indicates to me that you’re too embarrassed to say anything, rather than that you’re steaming against me for being such a punk and are about to punch my teeth into the back of my throat):

1. Not unlike Pringles potato chips (or “crisps,” for my imaginary British fans — which in my head are named Rose and Martha…and maybe Donna), once you pop you just can’t stop: Narnia has been made into a pop-up book.

2. Further hilarity ensues with “Stuff Christians Like.” Some of these entries were crazy, ROTFL funny! I ain’t playin’! (The site was inspired by “Stuff White People Like.”) (Speaking of which, maybe we could do something called “Stuff James White Likes”? Oh, wait, that’s kinda, sorta been done already.)

3. On a serious note, Russell D. Moore reviews Charles Schultz’s life and comics. It’s a sad but worthwhile read.

4. Finally, here is a wonderful reminder for the Christian.

Which in turn makes me want to sing to the Lord the following lyrics from “Always Forgiven“:

I don’t deserve to be your servant
And how much less to be your child
Anger and wrath, sure condemnation
Should be my portion, my just reward
Never have seen it, never will know it
Your lovingkindness enfolds my life
All you have shown me is
Grace, love and mercy
Now and forever I am your child
Freely you pour out
Your lovingkindness
Father of grace
You welcome me in
