“HORROR NIGHT AT THE PLAZA,” the headline blares. The horror was that a wealthy woman was trapped in a room with some garbage cans for seven hours, accidentally, while her Fabergé egg was unprotected in her unlocked room down the hall. Was this worth “bloody hands… screaming… breaking down… weeping”? I’d forgive a claustrophobe far more quickly than someone who was this overcome about the loss of a possession.
