This winter is apparently one of the worst in modern meteorological history; in other news, there may be more to ice cap melting than just ozone depletion. (Hello, wind effects on ocean currents! Didn’t anybody else learn that part of the reason people who aren’t from Iceland can live in Great Britain is because of the jet gulf stream?) HT: Cent.

It’s one of the warmest winters in Britain that I’ve ever known. Ice age? Pah.
Also, if wind effects on ocean currents are in doubt, ask anybody interested to spend a week in Cornwall in the summer, then a week in Fraserburgh. I think you’d probably still get frostbite if you swum in the ocean here in August. Well, maybe not, but close. Cornwall on the other hand is a veritable tropical paradise with temperatures of 30C+ every day normally.
All our hot air must be blowing toward you.
(I’m sure there’s a pretty big opening for a joke somewhere in there.)
That’s something about Cornwall. No wonder Uther and Ygraine hit it off there; it was probably like spring break.
Heat rises and we’re further north so that makes sense, right?
(I’ll leave the obvious joke. Maybe Aaron will see this and give some input.)
I had to look up who Uther and Ygraine were. Aaron sometimes mentions something about British history and when I don’t know what he’s referring to it shocks him. But 1000+ years condensed into a few years of schooling means you get big gaps.
Plus the fact that Uther and Ygraine might not even be history (as much as I might wish it otherwise).
Arthurian Geek, signing off.
Arggh, not the “jet stream,” the “gulf stream.”
I’m so embarrassed.
I know it’s not, but the legend is important enough that they did mention it in history class.
(Let’s forget the whole jet/gulf thing.)
