According to some sort of scientific study or whatever, elder siblings are on average smarter than their younger siblings. Fortunately, I am not only an older sibling, but the eldest sibling in our family! Therefore, according to scientific facts and figures and the theory of evolution which cannot be refuted, I am the smartest Chan in my clan.
Moreover, according to this study, intelligence is somehow tied to social prominence: “It has been proposed for some time that, on average across a population, first-borns are more intelligent than their younger brethren. There are more first-born sons in prominent positions than might be expected, for example.” Ha! Take that, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, among others!

Right, so who ended up on top in those Biblical examples you gave?
And then you have your Beethovens and so forth.
I think that Wikipedia gets this one right for once. Birth order is pop psychology at best. And when Christians start thinking that Adler has the right idea… well, it’s a bad sign.
Oh yeah, I agree with you guys. I was just trying to be cheeky and sarcastic (against the article itself). I guess it didn’t come across that way. Oops, sorry.
And using Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph apparently wasn’t the best idea either. Maybe I should’ve balanced it with elder siblings who had prominent positions or something, too. Or maybe I shouldn’t have used examples from the Bible. Anyway.
Um, I knew you were kidding. Sorry I didn’t give that impression.
Doh! I must be slow or something. On the plus side, obviously, my existence as the oldest sibling is further disproof of this theory!
