YAWQ (Yet Another Web Quiz)

This should be interesting. I had to post this to get something back after doing so poorly on Jessica’s.

The quiz people prompt you to enter all sorts of personal information. I grant you the choice of lying when you enter it. In fact, I encourage it. Apparently you can use the “pass” button to avoid giving away the store. Nobody on the web needs all that information.

Update: there are spoilers in the comments. Do the quiz before you read the comments.

    Hi Charlie,

I scored a 40 out of a possible 100. Ha ha ha… :) So sorry, it looks like I didn’t perform any better on your quiz. Well, funny enough, I did answer your favorite condiment and kung fu star correctly, though. Ha ha :)

By the way, for the folks who do not wish to enter personal information before seeing their results… they only need to click on the “Pass” button, so they won’t even need to fake the info or enter anything.

Hm. 40/100 is better than 70/200. Oh, well.

I didn’t see the “pass” button until it asked for home phone numbers, on the second page of personal info. But I may have overlooked it. I’ll update the post above, thanks.

Hi Charlie, you may be right that it allows the “pass” button only on the second page. The first page asks only for gender and birthday info. Oh well, nevertheless, as you wrote in your post, it’s encouraged to fake out all personal info.

Anyway, that was a fun test. Thanks for posting your own quiz.

Uh Oh. I only scored 70. Question #3 I answered based on the condiment you most often use, which I guess isn’t indicative of your favorite. And as for Question #7, I also got it wrong because I marked the one you talk about most (and have read to me the most) rather than the one that I /knew/ you liked most. *sigh*

And I can’t even begin to tell you what’s wrong with your answer for Question #9. *smiles*

    I got 13/20 on Jessica’s quiz and 5/10 on Charlie’s.

I am going to have to get back at you two and come up with my own quiz! I will make sure it’s so hard that no one will get more than 1 correct! Muhahahaha!

Update: Oops! I’m so sorry, Charlie and Jessica! Hopefully this will make things better. I’ve put my answers in white so people will have to mouse over to see them:

The ones I got wrong on Jessica’s quiz were:

    • Fave color. I chose green. ‘Cos it’s lean and mean! Actually, I had no clue, although it might be ‘cos I’m envious of Jessica’s decked out website. ;-)
    • Fave fairy-tale character. I chose Princess Fiona. It was between her or Belle from B&B.
    • Allergic to. I chose Arminians! Hehe. Although I thought it was probably incorrect, I couldn’t resist.
    • Fave TV show. I chose Gray’s Anatomy. It was either that or Desperate Housewives. Hehe. Just kidding. Was it Little House on the Prairie?
    • Middle name. I chose Christine but I have no clue. It could’ve been Zaphod Beeblebrox for all I know.
    • Language most want to learn. I chose Greek. But now that I think about it, it was probably Mandarin, yeah?
    • A 7 y/o’s aspirations. I chose a businesswoman. I don’t know. It was probably ‘cos she seems like a pro in many ways. ;-)

The ones I got wrong on Charlie’s quiz were:

    • Fave condiment. I chose ketchup. I based it off of some story Charlie once told about how he grew up eating a lot of hamburgers ‘cos that’s what his mom would cook. Yeah, flimsy connection, but I had no clue.
    • Unplayed high school instrument. I chose baritone. All I know is Charlie used to play the trumpet, but I’m in the dark about the others. BTW, I’m hoping he played the sax, either in high school or at another time, just because he used to dress in black a lot, have a pony tail, and I can totally see him playing the sax at some jazz club or something. ;-)
    • Fave Eliot poem. I chose Sweeney Among the Nightingales, but a close second was The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. Although, personally, I quite like the Hollow Men.
    • Never read again. I chose Heinlein. I know Charlie’s read a lot of Heinlein, so I thought I’d go with Heinlein because of my assumption that Charlie might be sick of him by now. I might’ve gone with Pirsig just ‘cos of the zen thing, though. Not sure.
    • Best doctor. Okay, so I got this one right, but I gotta say I was pretty close to picking David Tennant. What tipped the scale was a conversation we had together way back when, when Eccleston was rumored or maybe already confirmed not to come back for the next season, and I recalled Charlie telling me how much he liked Eccleston (especially in his moral absolutism, or something along those lines?).
    • Don’t wanna be. I chose pastor. I chose unwisely. :-(

Nobody on the web needs all that information.

I’m a New Year’s Day baby, born in 1925 (still alive and kickin’!). And I live on 1313 Mockingbird Lane in Hollywood, California. Yeah, I’m a Munster.

Ha ha ha, I’ll take your challenge, Patrick. Bring it on! :D I think I can score higher than 130 on yours. :) And oh, for Charlie’s quiz, it’s funny, I answered that meat loaf rocks Charlie’s world, mu ha ha ha :) Hey, at least I answered correctly that he didn’t cry when Anakin hurt Padme, or something like that. :)

By the way, Princess Fiona is my least favorite fairy-tale character. It’s funny that Patrick and Charlie voted for her in my quiz! :D

I got 90/200 on Patrick’s quiz. Oof. I think you poisoned that one against me. You knew a couple of them would have me clicking the wrong thing.

  11. Posted 6/23/2007 at 12:20 pm | Permalink

I don’t know who Abel Nightroad is, but he is very much in tune with my Science Fiction, and very much not in tune with the rest of my life. Still, I’m surprised that somebody got #8 and #9 right; nobody else got both right.

If I didn’t know who JP was by his initials, I would have known by his choice for my favorite Kung Fu star. Sorry, I just haven’t seen enough of him. Glad you got #8 right.

Patrick got the Doctor right. And yes, his inside information is correct. (So now I’m giving away answers. I’d better update the post regarding the spoilers.)

I got 90/200 on Patrick’s quiz. Oof. I think you poisoned that one against me. You knew a couple of them would have me clicking the wrong thing.

Actually, considering how I tried to make it “Charlie proof,” and was hoping for no more than 10/200 at best, that’s *argh* phenomenal. ;-)

In the event that any of you are remotely interested, though, the correct answers are (mouse over):

    1. Bats.
    2. Picard. Although I gotta give props to Kirk.
    3. Blue.
    4. Dune. Maybe if I were to re-read all four today, I’d go with Flowers for Algernon. It did have me in tears by the end.
    5. Philosophy. Although any of them, really, could be correct. I really like all of them.
    6. I can’t smell very well due to a head injury.
    7. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
    8. All of the above.
    9. Spurgeon. Although major props to the others. I’d have to give the edge to Spurgeon, though.
    10. TS of the Pampered Chefs. I miss eating Tracey Specials. :-(
    11. In ‘n Out.
    12. Israel.
    13. dressing up as a girl for SF gay Halloween parade. (Sigh.) Sadly, there’s some truth to the other ones, too. Well, sort of.
    14. Violin.
    15. Astronaut.
    16. Commodore 64.
    17. Victorian England. I like Imperial Rome more than the Roman Republic. And I do like the other two, but not as much as Victorian England.
    18. French.
    19. Ender’s Game.

I, too, wonder who this enigmatic “Abel Nightroad” is? He/she is more mysterious than the Chanmeleon! Oh, and Abel is spot-on on my scifi as well. He/she got all three of my scifi related questions correct. Wow.

    Hi Patrick and Charles,
    Hope this help.
I’m the main character in “Trinity blood”. While in Jessica’s blog, I identified myself as ‘The Nobuseri’ (Samurai 7).

    Sir Chanmeleon,

I’m halfway through taking your quiz right now, and… aaarggh! I’m pulling my hair. :D Okay, I must admit it’s more difficult than I anticipated, hehehe. :) To top it off, I don’t watch Star Trek, so I have no idea who Sisko or Archer is! I’m also torn between answering “Chick-Fil-A” and “In-n-Out”. :D Mmm, okay, getting back to the quiz now…

  16. Posted 6/23/2007 at 4:03 pm | Permalink

Hi Patrick, oh nooo, I did horribly on your quiz. Sorry :( Sadly so, especially after having been overly confident. :D But then, I’m not familiar with some of them, like the Star Trek characters, and I haven’t quite finished reading the Chronicles of Narnia, so it wasn’t easy to answer (not fully knowing all the books). Okay, enough excuses, I guess. :D If I had answered 3 more questions correctly, then I would’ve gotten 90 points (Charlie’s score). So maybe it’s not too bad, hehe. :D

  17. Posted 6/23/2007 at 5:30 pm | Permalink

    Hehe, true dat, Jessica. :-)

Actually, considering that I also tried my best to make it “Jessica-proof,” 60 is *grumble, grumble* “not bad,” I guess. ;-)

  18. Posted 6/23/2007 at 5:32 pm | Permalink

Abel Nightroad, sadly, despite what you’ve revealed about yourself, I confess I am still unable to figure out who you truly are. I’m left in the dark (as dark as the night) about your identity. I’m on a road to nowhere. :-(

Hm, well, since I’m not usually impressed with people who use their telepathic abilities to scour my mind for personal information, no, I am not at all impressed with your score, Amber! ;-)

Judging by the fact that I only got half right I think I need to brush up on my telepathy skills, then!

Nah, you just gotta be less modest and humble by only coming off “slightly” better than everyone else! :-)
