| You scored as Frodo. You’re Frodo Baggins! Frodo is a somewhat timid hobbit of the Shire, but he sets out on a dangerous journey to save Middle Earth, though the quest will change his life forever. Frodo is a selfless being, and his loyal friends will help him through his hardships. “We set out to save the Shire, Sam, and it has been saved… but not for me.”

(Yikes, how many nested tables do you need to generate something like this?)
I thought surely that I was going to end up being Boromir. Maybe we ought to devote a week to quizzes, since despite my resolutions against them I still find myself taking them.

Well, how cool is his?

Not sure how accurate this quiz is, but it’s pretty cool since Sam’s my favorite character…although, it would have been pretty neat to be Pippin! I guess we belong together, Charlie!
Wow, I didn’t notice until now that I scored 25% Gollum, and you only scored 13%. Note too that the pool really only includes one “black hat” character. What, no Saruman, or Grima Wormtongue?
You scored as Gandalf. You are Gandalf! This wise, old mage is loyal and brave. He is known for his counsel and advice to his friends and allies during tough times.
“All you have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to you.”Gandalf88%Samwise81%
I probably feel similarly as you about quizzes - I have been doing more lately…
Note Gollum is 0%. I guess I must have been a true Gollum and lied on some of the answers.
You scored as Samwise. You’re Samwise Gamgee! Samwise the brave is the most loyal friend that you could ever ask for. He’ll be there for you through thick and thin, and be willing to do anything for you.

Ha ha ha… Patrick, you scored 25% on Gollum…that’s precioussssssss (in my Gollum voice).
As you know, my top two scores were Arwen and Gandalf, then followed by Samwise Gamgee who is the BEST and my all-time favorite LOTR character. The only reason Sam was not #1 in my result is only because I don’t have hairy feet!
It’s hard being Patrick and me. Half the time I have evolutionists trying to pick fights with me, and the other half of the time women are accusing him of being one-quarter Gollum.
*smiles*
HA HA HA…
I don’t know if I should be sad or not. On the one hand, I got someone of the opposite sex (in my top two!). On the other hand, she was always my fave female character in the books.

BTW, did I ever tell you guys I met the real life Pippin? We sat and talked for a while with a friend (who originally and kindly invited me there). Billy was his name, if I remember.
Wow. Pippin is a very popular character around my house. Too bad he was probably taller than you.
Hey, you got a 31% Gollum score! Woo-hoo! I guess Jessica’s point stands then.
Hehe, actually, he wasn’t! So take that, friend whom I will no longer be loyal to despite answering that I would die for my friends! (He was about the same height. Dagnabit… Although, to my shame as a Californian, he can apparently surfboard whereas I’m bowled over by the waves in the kiddie pool.)
Oooh, Jessica! I shall repay you for such a mean comment by stealing something precious from you! Like your bandwidth! Or your clever website graphics! Or your cool book lists!
Hm, maybe I should retake the test. Based on the way I’m behaving, I may actually get Sauron by the time I’m through today.
BTW, Jessica, I noticed Eowyn was your least fave character in your post. Doh! Foiled again. I’m apparently a despised person. Sigh.
Although I will say I didn’t really like her character all that much in the movies. Hopefully that puts me in a better light?
Otherwise, I’m gonna go all Eowyn on you! By which I mean fall in love with you, be rejected by you for a pointy-eared other (not a Vulcan), and then in my rage lop off the head of the nearest monstrous beast!
This is so unbelievably messed up! I will never take another one of these quizzes again! (For one whole hour!)

HA HA HA
Ishould’ve elaborated earlier that I did mis-type Charlie’s name by typing in “Patrick” instead (see my first comment). So, Patrick, the Gollum comment wasn’t really directed toward you originally (read: please don’t steal my bandwidth
). It’s funny, though, cause you have the highest scoring Gollum in this post at least so far.
Btw, wow, how did you get to meet Billy?
Was Eowyn in the book very much different from the Eowyn in the movies? As far as I know, she doesn’t have that romantic thing going on with Aragorn according to the book.
Oh, a friend invited me to attend a film festival or convention which he is in charge of. We first watched a documentary about Punky Brewster’s dad. I think it was called “Sonny Boy” or something like that? (We met Punky Brewster, too!)
We then went to the after party, I guess ‘cos that’s what’s typically done after the premier of a film.
And Billy had been at the film festival because of a documentary about LOTR which also played there.
Anyway, that’s how I got to sit and chat with a hobbit at the after party.
But this doesn’t compare to when I met Screech in “Saved By the Bell”! Just kidding.
I did actually meet Screech when I was in high school working at a local movie theaters. It was more annoying than anything else, though, ‘cos he ran around the theater with his girlfriend acting, well, exactly as Screech would act.
Hm, I thought so, anyway. In the books she seemed more noble, from what I recall. I think in the movies they did try to make her more appealing to the modern-day Western female. In the books she seemed to be cast more in the spirit of the Nordic warrior women or something along those lines. At least to me.
BTW, is it just me, or does the Eowyn in the quiz results image look different than the Eowyn in the actual movies?
Well, I can’t say because it’s really hard to see Eowyn’s face in the quiz results image since it’s too small. I really like the white dress in the pic, though.
Mutterings that Pastor Rob might be cheating (he got “Aslan” in the quiz on Narnia characters) must be quashed. We won’t suffer accusations against elders lightly around here.
However, if he took a “Passion of the Christ” quiz and ended up being “Jesus,” then I think we have grounds for a board of inquiry into the matter.
You scored as Faramir. You’re Faramir of Gondor! Although you are a brilliant fighter and strategist, your parent(s) never seem to appreciate your talent and effort. You have an optimistic attitude, and would be willing to get into trouble if it would get others out of trouble.

While saying, “I am no man!”…?
Shoot, I had
conveniently ignoredforgotten about that.Or what if we incorporate it into a nursery rhyme?
“I am no man!
Run, run, as fast as you can,
You can’t catch me!
I’m the Gingerbread Chan!”
Oh, Nazgul, how do I taunt thee? Let me count the ways.
Sigh.
Why couldn’t I have been a hobbit?
Another thing. Eowyn was my fave female character in the books only because she was pretty much the only female character in the books!
At this point, I might even take a thoroughly corrupted hobbit. Oh, Gollum, how I miss you!
How can you possibly leave out Galadriel? Was there a more female character?
And has everybody forgotten Tom Bombadil’s wife?
Galadriel doesn’t count! She’s like an uber
womanfemale saint. In fact, if I had a rosary, I’d be tempted to… nevermind.Although, if I remember, weren’t there at least two other wizards who never appear in the stories (except perhaps briefly, in a sentence or two)? Can wizards be female?
In any case, you’re right, I spoke far too soon!
And now I miss Eowyn.
Hm. Apparently my affections are easily swayed. Maybe I should make this no. 11 on my reasons single Christian women should consider dating me?
Or maybe #1 on your list of reasons single Christian women should avoid you. OK, I’ll stop being snarky.
Hehe, that was funny.
And speaking of snarky, I happen to be of the opinion that we need more of your clever “snark attacks.” Particularly if you would consider surprising some of the village atheists or other wrong-headed thinkers @ T-blog with a few well-placed ones.
For some reason my comments aren’t being posted right away.
Anyway, both of our daughters took the quiz, and they got the same character, although their other results are different.
Our oldest got:
“I would rather spend one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone.”
Arwen
Eowyn
Aragorn
Samwise
Frodo
Gandalf
Faramir
Pippin
Gollum

Funny, because our oldest is more like Puddleglum than hopeful Arwen most of the time!
Man, even your daughters are cooler than me. I call for a recount!
