Matt Gumm tagged me with this:

  1. What time did you get up this morning? 7am
  2. Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds. I’d have a hard time buying pearls for my wife; I guess I’m the opposite of Matt in that I’d feel more inadequate in my ability to choose pearls.
  3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? That would have to be The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. One of the few times recently I haven’t been disappointed spending the money.
  4. What is your favorite TV Show? I’m pretty fond of Mythbusters at the moment. All time favorite would likely be Doctor Who, but I haven’t seen any since the seventh doctor turned into the guy from Alien. I was pretty sucked into Twin Peaks. I also really liked I, Claudius.
  5. What did you have for breakfast? Bottle of orange juice.
  6. What is your middle name? Robert. Ugh.
  7. What is your favorite cuisine? Italian.
  8. What foods do you dislike? Nearly any kind of cooked vegetable, unless it’s part of a larger ensemble (like green peppers on pizza).
  9. Favorite Potato Chip? Once there were such things as Alfredo-flavored Krunchers. Since then it’s either regular Krunchers or Cool Ranch Doritos.
  10. What is your favorite CD at the moment? Handel’s Messiah, Nicholas Harnoncourt.
  11. What kind of car do you drive? 1999 Olds Alero.
  12. Favorite sandwich? My wife’s “Tracey Special” (mushrooms, Udo’s oil blend, guacamole, black fig vinegar, on a toasted wheat bun). Also she does a great knockoff of the “Mediterranean Veggie” sandwich that Panera doesn’t make anymore.
  13. What characteristics do you despise? Ooh, Matt had a good answer. I would say, that kind of incompetence that doesn’t recognize itself as being incompetent.
  14. What are your favorite clothes? Since I started dressing up for church I kind of like my suit, oddly enough. Otherwise it’s black jeans (only Levis can stand the terrible beating I give them by never following the washing instructions), black t-shirt, comfortable black shoes.
  15. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go? England also, to see the English Reformation sites, Bunhill Fields, and so forth. Also I’d probably do some checking out of the places that might be connected with Arthurian legend.
  16. What color are your eyes? Green.
  17. Favorite Brand of Clothes? Levis.
  18. Where do you want to retire to? Beulahland. Which is to say, I don’t count on ever retiring.
  19. Favorite time of day? Early morning (not that I get to see it that often lately).
  20. Where were you born? Kirkwood, Missouri (suburb of St. Louis).
  21. Favorite sport to watch? I was able to watch curling for more than an hour, and that could be some kind of record for me.
  22. Whom do you least expect to respond to your tag? Tracey or Matt.
  23. Person you expect to send it back first? Patrick, unless he’s sore at me for never responding to the last time he tagged me.
  24. Coke or Pepsi? When caffeine is acceptable, it’s gotta be Mr. Pibb (old formula) or Dr. Pepper. Usually root beer is the soft drink of choice. I never drink either Coke or Pepsi if I can help it. I feel like I can feel my teeth rotting out of my head when I drink those.
  25. Are you a morning person or night owl? Unquestionably a morning person.
  26. Any new and exciting news you’d like to share with everyone? His mercies are new every morning. That really does excite me.
  27. What did you want to be when you were little? Astronaut, until I ended up getting glasses. After that I think I wanted to be an author.
  28. What is your best childhood memory? Family vacations, even though the RV broke down practically every day.
  29. What are the different jobs you have had in your life? Drywall taping and painting, audio engineer for a small-time CCM group, night receiving and stocking at a Wal-Mart, perfume sales (one week), McDonald’s cook (three days), computer sales and service, and currently network administrator for a medium-sized nonprofit.
  30. Nicknames: Charlie Brown, Charles in Charge, Charles Nelson Riley, Chuck, Chaz, Ace, Sorry Charlie, and for some reason one fellow whom I have worked with for eight years has suddenly taken to calling me Steve. (I blame dementia.)
  31. Piercings? No.
  32. Ever been to Africa? No.
  33. Ever been toilet papering? No.
  34. Been in a car accident? A couple, but never a serious one.
  35. Favorite day of the week? Sunday.
  36. Favorite restaurants? Longhorn, Papa John’s.
  37. Favorite flower? Tulip. Duh. (Actually I like the way lilies look.)
  38. Favorite flavor of ice cream? Chocolate and peanut butter from Baskin Robbins. Can’t seem to find one around here, though.
  39. How many times did you fail your driver’s license? Once; I discovered I had some trouble seeing contrasting colors as a result.
  40. Before this one, from whom did you get your last e-mail? My wife.
  41. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card? Monergism.com or SGCB, but if you’re looking for brick and mortar, it would probably be Borders or the Apple Store.
  42. Bedtime? Lately between 9 and 10pm, but there are weeks where it’s always closer to midnight.
  43. Who are you most curious about their responses to this questionnaire? Matt and/or Dave.
  44. Last person you went to dinner with? I think it would have to be my wife.
  45. What are you listening to right now? The helpdesk personnel banging file cabinets around in the cubicle next to me.
  46. What is your favorite color? Gray or black.
  47. How many tattoos do you have? Yeah, right.
  48. How many people are you sending this e-mail to? It’s getting blogged.
  49. What time did you finish this? Around 4pm.
